Letter From The Founder

Asli Musso

One of my earliest memories as a child was my desire to decorate my family home with designs and art that I found all over Istanbul in buildings, literature and traditional clothing.

A few years later and after completing my higher education in the US, I returned home to Istanbul, Turkey with the goal of introducing to the west the unique lost art of Handcrafted Turkish Design. During my time spent in the US, I found it hard to purchase affordable high quality bed linen that offered me any information on how and where the products were made. I ended up shipping my linen and towels from Turkey and with no surprise all my friends were impressed by the unique eye catching designs and fine quality of Turkish textiles.

With a mission to revive craftsmanship- a trade long lost, I founded Letters from the Bosphorus with a team of exceptionally talented and dedicated women both mothers and not, who’s earnings depends on creating uniquely designed patterns for home comforts.

Over the years, this art form became neglected due to industrialization leaving the consumer with poor quality and design. Turkey is known as a premium destination for it’s textile industry and proudly produces comforts for the home that are of exceptional quality to the consumer while maintaining affordability for all the work that goes into our products.

We are proud to introduce to you Letters from the Bosphorus, a traditional brand with modern values conveying our commitment to quality and design.
